Math and computer engineering at Carnegie Mellon University.

Hi, I’m Chris Shi (also known as Hongyi Shi), an undergraduate studying math and computer engineering at Carnegie Mellon University (CMU).

This is a personal blog. I’m interested in infrastructure, biodefense, interpretability, automation.

I’m fascinated by the hardware of thinking. I’m currently researching mechanistic interpretability for in-context learning and pretraining. I’m also interested in optimal transport and high dimensional probability. For fun, I work on animating robots (like these).
